Authors: J. Angus MacLean and Elaine Breault Hammond
Average review score:

Sales Explosion @ Amazon.com
This book is gonna to have sales blowing the roof at Amazon.com - believe me! It is the most realistic, heart-felt, and frightning novel ever written about a factual event. This tale brings you right back to the event many would remember reading an article about in the local paper or seeing on the late night news. If you haven't even heard of the book don't be suprised - it was overlooked by most critics. But look closer at what is a beuatiful, intreuging, and intellectually arousing story that could be mentioned in the same name as "TITANIC" - not in impact, but in the horror inflicted by this tradgedy... A must!

Extraordinary Friends (Let's Talk About It)
Published in School & Library Binding by Putnam Pub Group Juv (March, 1900)
Authors: Fred Rogers, Jim Judkis, and Kathy Dawson
Average review score:

Let's talk about it: Extraordinary friends
I ordered this book for my sister, who's 2 year old son has cerebral palsy. My idea was that she could place it in her local day care center that my nephew attends so that the other kids could have some of their questions answered about kids with special needs. This book really fit the bill..it is clear and concise, and seemed to address lots of questions that I have heard other children asking. Other than just seeing that something is "wrong" or different, maybe after reading the book they will realize that diversity is a part of life and that people with special needs can be just as fun and interesting as everyone else! The book really helped put into words what I would like kids to know about meeting and interacting with kids with disabilites. I also ordered "Someone special just like you", but found the Extraordinary friends book to be a much better choice for my particular needs.

READ THIS BOOK NOW WITHOUT DELAY
This book reiterates much of what I have found in my own walk with God, but something which the average Christian is unaware is available to him/her. IF YOU HAVE EVER SAID, "I would follow God's will, if I only knew what He wanted. If only He would drop a little sign from Heaven...", THEN THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU. You can know God's will. He wants you to know His will. This book will teach you how. Read it now without delay!

Forged by the Knife: The Experience of Surgical Residency from the Perspective of a Woman of Color
Published in Paperback by Open Hand Pub (01 October, 1999)
Author: Patricia L. Dawson
Average review score:

New Perspectives
This book is a great look into the experiences black women have as the vast minority in surgical residency. It is very well written and is full of rich writing and emotion. There is no parallel, especially as it is a topic that is not widely known about. This is a great book.

Good Night, Aunt Lilly (A Little Golden Book)
Published in Hardcover by Goldencraft (December, 1983)
Authors: Margaret Madigan and Diane Dawson Hearn
Average review score:

My favorite book from my childhood
I'm not a professional book critic of any sort, I'm a high school student from rural Oregon. my childhood was spent in the bay area though. One of my friends recently told me she was pregnant and I wanted to give her some of the books I had when I was little. The first one I thought of was Good Night Aunt Lilly. I don't even know what it is about this book, but it's enough to stay dear to my heart after thirteen years of reading it. To the Author: Dear Ms. Madigan: Thank you so much for this book. my family was poor around the time I was born, and your book was the first thing I ever owned. Being a little kid, it's important to sate that innocent childhood greediness and have something that is no one else's. Thanks again for writing the story that filled that void. ~Meg Herndon, Corbett, OR.

GURPS Discworld Also
Published in Paperback by Steve Jackson Games (March, 2002)
Authors: Phil Masters, Alain H. Dawson, Sean Murray, and Steve Jackson Games
Average review score:

Scenarios, templates, and "modern" Discworld
Discworld Also picks up where GURPS Discworld left off and includes information on the more modern innovations that have occurred on the Disc in the books Pratchett has written since GURPS Discworld was published, such as the communications explosion and the opening of EcksEcksEcksEcks, and also offers more information and help to the game master and players. There are also new racial packages and character templates (including one for creating an Igor!).

It also includes 3 full-blown adventure scenarios and 3 adventure seeds. I've only run one of the adventures, Lost and Found, twice at conventions. This adventure has always run beautifully with both those familiar with the Disc (even those more familiar with it than I) and those who are not. Warning, though, the laughter that erupts from time to time at the table tends to distract those at the surrounding tables who opted (silly people that they are) to play something else!

This book is a joy to read, even if you're not planning on running a game in the Discworld setting, but is, of course, primarily intended for those interested in running a game in the setting. I would note that you really need to own GURPS Discworld (or the Discworld Roleplaying Game, as it's now being called) to use it.

This was a wonderful find. The watercolor and pencil illustrations are beautifully drawn and executed, with especially good depictions of children and animals. Lots of details and interesting information. Kids and adults alike will truly learn from and enjoy this book. Would make a great gift for former Hoosiers now far away.
